MINUTES OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING HELD AT GLEAVE HOUSE VICTORIA ROAD ECCLESHILL BRADFORD - ON MONDAY 10TH NOVEMBER 2003 COMMENCING AT 6.30PM WELCOME Members were welcomed by the President PRESENT Martin Carr (President ) in the Chair together with Ernie Bagshaw, Eric Hudson, Peter Hollingworth and the Secretary who was co-opted for the duration of the meeting APOLOGIES Apologies for absence were received from Mary Frame, Alma Elston, Mary Jones Caroline Atkins (Yks Water) Stephen Clark Tony Welburn and Bill Worsman MINUTES The Minutes of the meeting held on 13th October 2003, which had been circulated, were, on the proposal of Ernie Bagshaw, seconded by Peter Hollingworth, confirmed and signed as a correct record. MATTERS ARISING a) Eccleshill Takeaway - Val advised that the Appeal decision is not in yet -(noting Metro have also made a representation) b) Riot Damages Act - Val confirmed she had responded as agreed c) Westgate - Val said she had responded, and spoken to the Traffic Engineer and members noted the acknowledgement letter (N.B. a copy of our letter was also sent to Catherine at Kirkgate Centre) d) West Bowling Golf Club Val tabled the confirmation letter re cancelled Public Inquiry e) Bradford & Bingley A/C Val confirmed our account has been closed and balance transferred to our Nationwide account f) WYP - Consultation Event - (27/10 ) - Val advised that this event was cancelled due to insufficient acceptances. (noting 400 invites were sent out) g) Bradford URC - Masterplan launch (23/10/03) - was attended by Mary & Val - who advised speakers spoke enthusiastically - much media hype - with a mixed reaction from those attending. (further information on this via Eric's report on Chamber of Commerce meeting) h) Bfd City Centre Map - Val advised she had obtained sufficient copies for distribution to every member (NB a copy was also distributed to Exec Members with the minutes for this meeting) i) Accident Books - Val advised that several members have placed orders for the books (at discounted prices via West Yorkshire Group) CORRESPONDENCE 1) Data Protection - Val advised that our Data Protection obligation needs renewing on 5/12 (£35 ) - which members agreed should be done. 2) Bradford Can Appeal - members noted their newsletter and fund raising events 3) Employ Bradford - members noted that the Seminar which should have been on 5/11 was cancelled - due to insufficient take up - (Marion was going to attend on our behalf) 4) East Project - Val tabled details of this event which members noted (particularly the economical costs associated with their meeting rooms in London) 5) Schools Route - Val tabled a new format for displaying Engineers plans associated with this proposal - which members noted. Members also agreed that increased use of the "Yellow Bus" scheme for schools should also be encouraged. 6) Frizinghall Traffic Proposals - were tabled - which were again within a new format. Planning Applications - City Centre Unit 4 Broadway (COU to amusement centre resubmitted application - noting we have already discussed this application and agreed OK) Unit 5 Forster Sq Retail Park (SCS Upholstery signage) Shipley Paints Leeds Rd (demolition of buildings prior to office and residential developments ) Out of Town Fina Garage New Line Grreengates (new retail and office development) 50-52 High St Idle (COU of property to restaurant) 265 Bradford Rd Idle (fences etc within existing garden centre and formation of new store entrance and external lighting - Wickes) - Shipley Bridge House, Dock Lane (construction of an office/showroom with workshop and four lettable units) Paradise Shopping Precinct Clayton (construction of a shop unit) Mumtaz Foods 386-410 Great Horton Rd (extension to factory) 415 Southfield Lane (COU from retail to hot food take away -Val still to check as we have member in area - noting subsequent to meeting Val was requested to object) Keighley - Bracken Bank Post Office (extension and alterations to Post Office shop to form convenience store) |
